Whaiora offers a wide range of health and social services to our Wairarapa community, including:

- A very Low-Cost Access (VLCA) Medical Centre for Masterton Māori, Pacific peoples, and people who have found it hard to afford or access healthcare.

- A range of community-based health and social services for individuals and whānau. They provide these services to clients living between Mt Bruce and the Remutaka Ranges at no cost to the client. Clients receive quality health and/or social services from caring and friendly professionals. Whaiora supports their clients to achieve their health and wellness goals.

Problem

Whaiora provide in-the-field care across the Wairarapa region to support the wellness of their community . Their face to face community support  includes nurses, social workers, stop smoking coaches, community health workers, and other medical service providers, who sometimes find themselves in an environment where their safety is not guaranteed.

Solution

Whaiora’s fleet of company vehicles were fitted with Sparks Fleet Tracking devices, allowing real-time monitoring via an easy to use app. This secure app is available to key people within their organisation offering visibility of staff on the move to confirm their safety. This Fleet Tracking solution gives them a way to track the time any member of their team is at any specific site and indicating whether that meeting has gone into overtime. Should that happen it prompts a call from the office to check everything is ok and confirm staff safety is not compromised.

Result

Whaiora are now able to monitor staff as they make their rounds, providing greater health and safety, as well as peace of mind for their staff. They’re also using knowledge of where staff are to allocate where needed the nearest available people if urgent calls arise, increasing response times for people in need. Whaiora also have the ability to  plot travel plans for staff based on the most efficient routes. As they learn more about the power of the system, and business benefits such as fuel tracking are increasing.
